From July 14th to July 17th, the Academy of Justice, in cooperation with the Department of Justice and the USA Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), supported and funded by the Office of International Narcotics and Enforcement Affairs of Law (INL) at the US Embassy, has conducted the second session of the Training of Trainers on Mediation.
The training was a continuation of the 1st session held in May, which is being followed by 15 mediators from different regions of the Republic of Kosovo, with whom it is intended to create a professional team of trainers on mediation field.
The second training session was focused on Property, Family and Commercial issues, in which case the entire training was combined with practical cases, and with role playing by all participants, being divided into working groups.
In addition to experts from the USA, Mr. Peter Swandon and Mrs. Emily Rife, the training was also enriched by the expert from Slovenia, Mrs. Simona Frumen, who shared her knowledge in Mediation matters from the Civil/Property, Commercial and Family fields.
On the last day, the Chairman of the Judicial Council of Kosovo, Mr. Albert Zogaj, together with the participants discussed the common concerns, drafting of mediation agreements, giving examples of good and bad agreements.
Beneficiaries of the Training were the 15 mediators selected for the Mediation Training Program.
