September 22-23, 2022, under the organization of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN), through the Kosovo Justice Academy, training on the topic: "Application of EU Law against Discrimination" was held in Tallinn, Estonia which was carried out with joint organization between ERA and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Estonia.
With the financial support of the Constitutional Court, the following participants attended in this training: Juristconsulti Mr. Sevdail Kastrati and the senior constitutional-legal advisor Mr. Boban Petković.
The topics and aspects elaborated during this two-day training were: EU legal framework with the following main concepts: direct discrimination, indirect discrimination, harassment, Burden of proof, Preliminary decision procedure; Disability and reasonable treatment, Religious discrimination in the workplace, LGBTIQ rights, Hate speech, Artificial intelligence.
The seminar was of exceptional importance for the participants from the Republic of Kosovo because it enabled them to address the issue of (non) discrimination from a higher level of the legal framework than the one covered by the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), from the legislation of the EU, and from the cases of the European Court of Justice, which is both a broader legal framework and even more complex in the way of training concrete cases.
