Sexual abuse and crimes against the children’s sexual integrity

On February 22 2019, Academy of Justice within its CTP and in cooperation with UNICEF organized a training on the “Sexual abuse and crimes against the children’s sexual integrity”.

Purpose of this training was to extend the participants knowledge on correct application of legal provisions that relate to criminal procedure when the child is a victim of criminal offence against sexual integrity, and distinction of the forms of rape and other similar offences pertaining to the children sexual integrity.

Training session presented in details the most frequent forms of the sexual abuse, incriminating actions of the criminal offence, in cases when the child was a victim, sexual abuse of the persons under the age of sixteen.

It was further elaborated on provision of the pornographic material to persons under the age of sixteen, children abuse in pornography, inciting sexual acts with false promise of marriage, facilitating or forcing to prostitution, etc.

The training discussed about practical cases elaborating legal provisions that sanction these offences, and provided best practices in adequate handling of these cases. 

Beneficiaries of these trainings were judges, prosecutors, professional associates.
