On February 02, 2013, KJI in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Prishtina, the Department of Justice and the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development Assistance and Training (OPDAT) conducted a training session on the new Code of Criminal Procedure.
The purpose of the training was for participants to familiarize themselves with the structure and the novelties of the Criminal Procedure Code which entered into force on January 01, 2013.
The training focused on general principles and competences of the courts, the initiation of investigations and criminal proceedings until the indictment, the indictment and its review, and judicial review and legal remedies. All these institutes were addressed in the context of changes, additions and their comparison with the previous provisions.
Beneficiaries of this training were 118 judges, prosecutors, lawyers, customs officials and police officers from the Prishtina region.
