Training on the Code of Criminal Procedure of Kosovo (TPP)
On February 23, 2013, KJI in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Prishtina, the Department of Justice and the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development Assistance and Training (OPDAT) conducted the next training session on the topic “Novelties of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Kosovo”.
The purpose of the training was for participants to familiarize themselves with the structure and the novelties of the Code of Criminal Procedure which entered into force on January 01, 2013.
The training focused on general principles and competences of the courts, the initiation of investigations and criminal proceedings until the indictment, the indictment and its review, the judicial review and legal remedies. All these institutes were addressed in the context of changes, additions and their comparison with the previous provisions.
The beneficiaries of this training were 50 participants who included judges, prosecutors, lawyers and police officers from the region of Mitrovica.
