On February 27 and 28, 2013, KJI, in cooperation with UN Women, conducted a two day training on the topic “Gender equality, international instruments, domestic violence and key procedural issues and property issues”.
The issues raised in the context of this training were: major international instruments on gender equality and domestic legislation in dealing with women's rights, key procedural issues related to the application of the protection orders and emergency protection order, and fundamental rights issues equality of men and women in inheritance and division of joint property in divorce cases.
The training was followed with discussion regarding cases from case law regarding all matters and challenges that participants face in the implementation of the law.
Beneficiaries of the training were judges from the Peja region, officials from the Centre for Social Work, officials from the State Prosecution Office -Victim Protection Office and the Kosovo Police Officers.
