On March 9, 2013, KJI in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Prishtina, the Department of Justice and the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development Assistance and Training (OPDAT) conducted the next training session on the topic “Novelties of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Kosovo”.
The purpose of the training was for participants to familiarize themselves with the structure and the novelties of the Code of Criminal Procedure which entered into force on January 01, 2013.
The training focused on general principles and powers of the courts, the initiation of investigations and criminal proceedings by indictment, the indictment and its review, and judicial review and legal remedies. All these institutes were addressed in the context of changes, additions and their comparison with the preceding provisions.
The beneficiaries of this training were 83 participants such as judges, prosecutors, lawyers, officials from Correctional Service, as well as police officers from the region of Peja and Gjakova.
