Training on Gender Equality – domestic violence and property issues

On March 14 and 15, 2013 KJI in cooperation with UNWOMEN, conducted a training session in the field of human rights and gender equality discussing topics about; human rights and gender equality - international instruments, domestic violence - the main procedural issues as well as property and inheritance issues.

The purpose of this training was for participants to develop analytical and research skills for the implementation of international standards and local legislation for human rights and women's rights in particular. At the same time were analyzed state obligations towards the rights of women and practical cases encountered. 

In this training were identified difficulties that courts face in cases of requests for emergency protection orders and protection orders within the legal timeline.

The beneficiaries of this training were: basic court judges, prosecutors from basic prosecution offices and victim defenders of the Mitrovica region
