On 13-14 October 2015, KJI was represented at the conference on: “Freedom of expression, still as precondition for the democracy” organized by the Council of Europe in Strasburg.
The purpose of this conference was to present the findings in the area of freedom of expression in member states and to analyze the situation and discuss challenges faced during the implementation of the ECHR decisions.
Among other issues, during this conference was analyzed the evolution of the ECHR case law relating freedom of expression, in particular the expansion the space for online public communication. Other topics discussed during this occasion were the possibility to create the environment for public debate, the fight against terrorism, freedom of expression, as well as protection of freedom of expression online.
