Sub-module - Juvenile Justice Code - fourth session: General provisions that characterize the criminal procedure against minors, Principles of the procedure and the powers of the courts, Subjects of the procedure, the probation service and the guardianship authority and the different stages of the procedure, who conducts it (prosecutor, juvenile judge, judicial bodies)

On October 28, 2022, within the framework of the Initial Program for the newly appointed judges of the ninth generation, the first group of theoretical training was carried out under the module "Juvenile Justice Code" with trainer Ms. Nesrin Lushta, judge at the Supreme Court.

During the implementation of this session, the following were addressed: the age counted for criminal liability, the urgency of the procedure and the short deadlines, non-trial in the absence of the minor, the principle of confidentiality and opportunity, the best interest of the minor, deprivation of liberty as a last resort and the characteristics of detention, the subject and territorial competence of the courts, the role and competences of the guardianship authority, the role and competences of the probation service, the separation and unification of the criminal procedure, the powers of the Prosecutor, the juvenile judge and the judicial bodies/colleges for juveniles .

The training methodology is implemented with practical cases and interactive discussion.

Beneficiaries of the training are 29 newly appointed judges, where two of them are from the Serbian community.
