Online training on gender equality

The Academy of Justice, in collaboration with the AIRE Center, has conducted an online training on gender equality for judicial professionals with the support of the United Kingdom Government. This online training is available to judges, police officers, social workers, law students, media professionals and all other interested individuals. Training is available in all languages spoken in the Western Balkans.

The training purpose is as follows:

  • Promoting gender equality by familiarizing the participants with the main concepts of gender equality, such as the definition and clarification of the concepts of gender roles, gender identities and sexual orientation, as well as their differences.
  • Fighting bias and gender stereotypes that manifest openly in courtrooms throughout the Western Balkans, as well as raising awareness about gender equality issues and the role of the judiciary in its promotion.
  • Enabling a deeper understanding of the gender equality concept and the reasons why gender equality is an important issue, how this principle is applied in practice and what are its effects.
  • The difference between the concepts of discrimination, sexual harassment and workplace harassment.

Training duration:

  • Online training does not require prior or additional preparation. You have 120 minutes of time available to actively use the materials you need.
  • Also, you need about 60 minutes (depending on previous knowledge) to learn the curriculum and take the tests.
  • A certificate is issued for each participant who completes the training. The points awarded by the Judicial and Prosecution Training Center to all professionals who complete the training will be counted as valuable points for their career.
