Submodule: State Prosecutor, injured party and defendant as parties in criminal proceedings; First session - State Prosecutor

On October 9, 2023, Academy of Justice within the initial training program for the newly appointed judges of the tenth generation, is conducting the theoretical training under the module "State Prosecutor, Defense and Victim" with trainer Mrs. Laura Pula, prosecutor at the State Prosecutor’s Office.

This session is addressing the following: the State Prosecutor, the role of the prosecutor in the initiation of criminal proceedings, cooperation and relations with the public, the exclusion of state prosecutor, the structure and competence of the state prosecutor, the role of the state prosecutor to the state after receiving the criminal report, obtaining evidence by the prosecutor during the investigation, the role of the state prosecutor in relation to the arrest, detention and other measures for securing the defendant during the investigation phase, the role of the state prosecutor in the indictment phase, the role of the state prosecutor in the temporary seizure of assets, the restraining order, the temporary security measure, the temporary confiscation, role of the state prosecutor during the judicial review, role of the state prosecutor in the stage of presenting legal remedies, and role of the prosecutor in other procedures.

The training methodology is implementing practical cases as well as with the interactive discussions.

Beneficiaries of the training are 29 newly appointed judges including one member from the Bosnian community and one from the Turkish community.
