Roundtable discussion – criminal law: Public corruption, KJI + USA Justice Department

On 03-04 March 2009 the Kosovo Judicial Institute in cooperation with the USA Department Justice organized training on criminal law under the topic “Investigation and prosecuting public corruption and related offences”. The main issues elaborated by US Department of Justice Trainers, public prosecutor and custom special agents were practical cases on public corruption from the investigative stage through the conclusion of the trial.The goals of this training are to provide an in-depth examination of the police-prosecutor relationship, various investigative techniques, including use confidential informants, cooperating witnesses, and/or undercover officers, report writing, interviewing skills, recognizing the elements of corruption and related offences, formulating trial strategy, etc.On Day 2 of this workshop, members of the Albanian Anti-Corruption Unit will discuss its work and strategies for success.

Beneficial of this training were judges and prosecutors of all regions of Kosovo, Police officers as well as representatives of Anti-corruption unit form Albania.
