“Proceedings on declaring a person as deceased according to international conventions and domestic legislation” (CLEP)

On July 6, 2012, KJI within the Continuous Legal Education program conducted a training session on the aforementioned topic.

After the completion of the training participants will be able to:
•  Apply properly the proceeding on declaring a person as missing or deceased,
•  Gain more knowledge on the competent subjects for the initiation of the procedure,
•  To apply properly the conditions for declaring a person as missing or deceased,
•  To draft properly rulings after the completion of the respective proceedings,
•  To calculate correctly the time-lines of the procedure on declaring a person as missing or deceased and proving the death of a person..

The focus of this training session was on the procedure for declaring a person as missing or deceased according to international conventions and domestic legislation. Versatile, the role of the parties and decisions that should be issued in declaring a person as missing or deceased were addressed too. Especially issues related to the calculation of the time and cases from the national case-law were addressed by presenting the models of judicial decisions that were of interest to participants.
The beneficiaries of this training were civil court judges from all regions of Kosovo.
