Judicial proceedings in cases of damage compensation and evaluation criteria

On April 26-27, 2020, the Academy of Justice within the Continuous Training Program, in cooperation with the EU project, Support to Civil Code Phase 2, is conducting a training on "Judicial proceeding in cases of damage compensation and evaluation criteria".

Trainers engaged in this training are: Albert Zogaj, Judge in the Appeal Court, Rafet Haxhaj Judges in the Appeal Court, Haxhi Gashi, Dean of the Law Faculty the University of Prishtina and Enver Hasani, Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina.

The purpose of this training is to advance the knowledge of the participants regarding the proper implementation of the court procedure for compensation of damages and evaluation criteria.

This training focused on: The standards applied by the Constitutional Court of Kosovo regarding the judicial procedure in cases of damage compensation and evaluation criteria ”accompanied by the interpretations made by the ECtHR in Strasbourg regarding this topic.

During this training are being elaborated: Subjects of law in cases of causing damage, auto liability insurance and insurance of employees at work, compensation of material and immaterial damage by the insurance policy, criteria for damage assessment, assessment of damage, right to rent and regression of damage.

The training methodology is based on interactive discussions, elaborating on various cases from the case law.

Beneficiaries of this training were: Judge of the basic instances from all regions, judges from the Appeal instance and participants from the administrative staff from Peja region.
