On May 7 2021, Academy of Justice within its Continuous Training Program, in cooperation with the US Department of Justice/ OPDAT - US Embassy, is conducting a Roundtable discussion on “Elaboration of the main concepts of the CSP Guideline on the role and the contribution of the state prosecutor in sentencing calculation”.

Trainers engaged in this training are: Shqipdon Fazliu, Prosecutor in the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, and Benina Kusari, Senior Legal Expert, US Embassy, Prishtina.

The purpose of this meeting is to address the Guideline on the role and contribution of the state prosecutor in sentencing calculation, and its correlation with the guidelines approved by the Supreme Court. Addressing the issues contained in the guideline and their implementation in practice would directly affect the awareness of state prosecutors to implement it effectively in their work which would directly affect the unification of punitive policy and further develop the professional competence of state prosecutors. The aim is to introduce some step-by-step instructions for prosecutors on what should be the commitment of prosecutors to advance the punitive policy in the country.

The applied methodology is of combined character, with theoretical explanations and interactive discussions.

Beneficiaries of this training are Prosecutors of the Appeals instance, the SPRK, and Basic Prosecution of Prishtina.
