Taking of Court Decisions on Commercial Disputes and Bankruptcy

On 27 - 31 January 2014, KJI in cooperation with CLDP has delivered a training program on topic “USA/Kosovo Consultations on taking of court decisions for Commercial Disputes and Bankruptcy”. This training program is accomplished with a very rich agenda in New York-USA.

Main goals of these programs were: to build up professional competencies of Kosovo judges in giving out fair, efficient and effective judgements on commercial disputes and international disputes, issuance of predictable, harmonized and efficient decisions on international sales contracts.

This program included, meetings, court proceedings, interactive training sessions with American Federal judges, attorneys and other professionals form American judicial system, accomplished at the Commercial Department of New York Supreme Court, American Court of the Southern District of New York, International Commercial Court, American Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of New York, New York State Bar Association, International Centre for Dispute Resolution,  Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Regulatory Authority of the Financial Industry, as well as lawyers firms “Cravath Swaine & Moore LLP” and Eaton & Van Winkle LLP”.

Participants of this program had the opportunity to discuss with relevant American authorities in relation to their experiences on international sales contracts, laws and accepted standards of international level that govern them.

Beneficiaries: Judges at basic and appellate level of commercial departments.
