October 2021, Academy of Justice within the Initial Training Program for newly appointed judges (generation 8) is conducting theoretical training from the sub-module on Criminal Procedure Code – Procedure involving perpetrators with mental disorders, with trainer Mr. Avni Mehmeti, judge in the Mitrovica Basic Court.
In the framework of this session, the following topics are being addressed: Legal criteria related to the detention on remand for persons with mental disorders, detention and conditions, legal requirements for the measure of detention.
Training methodology is applying practical cases as well as the interactive discussions method. The Training is being held in combined method with physical presence respecting all protection measures against Covid-19 and also available online via Zoom platform.
Beneficiaries of this training are 24 newly appointed judges two of whom are of the Serbian community.
