Professional ethics for prosecutors

On October 10th 2014, the KJI within its Training program for Promotion for newly appointed prosecutors conducted the first training session for the module of Professional Ethics for prosecutors.

Main purpose of this training was to acquaint the newly appointed prosecutors with the responsibilities while practicing the prosecutors function, factors impacting the judicial and prosecutorial integrity, as well as the main national and international normative acts that regulate the area.

Issues elaborated during this training were mainly related to principles on which the Code of Ethics for prosecutors relies on, internal and external factors that influence on weakening the public trust, and other issues of importance for gaining public trust.

The training introduced and discussed different examples from practice that provided elements of the ethics breach and unprofessional conduct. Also, the participating prosecutors discussed and posed questions for practical cases.

Beneficiaries of this training were newly appointed prosecutors in Basic prosecutions of Prishtina, Gjilan, Peja and Gjakova.
