On December 21, 2021, the Academy of Justice, within the Initial Training Program paid a visit to the Kosovo Customs with the newly appointed presidents (generation VIII).
In addition to practical training in the courts, judges who are attending the initial training make visits to various justice system institutions, as well as non-judicial institutions. Part of these visits was also the one to the Kosovo Customs, aiming to identify practical problems and intensify inter-institutional cooperation.
During this visit judges gained knowledge on legal competencies of the Customs, the activities regulating this area, as well as the role of the customs officials. Forms of border operations, taxes collected by customs, anti-smuggling measures and comparative aspects between Kosovo customs and other custom institutions in the region. Customs officials were open to discussions and questions raised by candidates, disclosing challenges faced in practice.
The visit was carried out in person always, always respecting the measures in force. Beneficiaries of this visit were the newly appointed judges (generation VIII).
