Mediation and Restorative Justice

On 01 December 2014, KJI in cooperation with the “Contract Law Enforcement Program (CLE)- USAID conducted training on “Mediation and Restorative Justice

The aim of this training was to analyze and identify the applicable conduction of mediation, proper interpretation of legal provisions of mediation agreement and enhancement of professional capacity of judges and prosecutors.

This training treated also applicable legislation, mediation procedure, agreement and its content, role of the court – prosecution in referral, recognition and execution of mediation agreement, responsibility of mediators, etc.

Also, the focus was on the relationship between mediation and other mechanisms for alternative dispute resolution.

The training was conducted in an interactive form where participants had the opportunity to discuss with trainers issues faced during their practical work.

This training is a continuation of regional training for judges and prosecutors of the Gjilan and Ferizaj and will continue for other regions.
