On 29 January 2015, Kosovo Judicial Institution conducted a training for civil judges on: “Damage Compensation”.
During this training were addressed issues related to damage compensation. In particular, this training aimed to advance knowledge about the difference between material and immaterial damage, determination of conditions for exercising the right to damage compensation and set certain criteria and conditions for the amount of damage.
Among other issues in this training, were discussed topics related to the cause of the damage and liability of the person who caused the damage, claim for compensation and criteria for determining the amount of damage as well as reducing the amount of damages due to material situation damaged person.
There was also discussed the statutory limitation of damage compensation as a form of extinction of obligations and general statutory deadline.
During this training were used combined methods of explanation, including theoretical and practical explanations, accompanied by practical examples, where judges discussed and posed questions on problems faced by them during unification of judicial practice and increase of quality.
Beneficiaries of this training were judges of Appeal and Basic Court as well as professional associates.
