The Kosovo Justice Academy and the Kosovo Judicial Council participate in the 38th Plenary Meeting of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) in Malta

June 27 - 28, 2022 – Upon the invitation of the CEPEJ Secretariat of the Council of Europe, the delegation from Kosovo consisting of the Kosovo Justice Academy’s Executive Director Mr. Enver Fejzullahu, and Chairman of the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) Mr. Albert Zogaj participated in the thirty-eighth meeting (38) Plenary Meeting of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) which was held in Valletta, Malta.

In this meeting it was discussed about topics like "Increase of the quality and efficiency of a digital justice", the challenges of digital justice as well as ways to better prepare judges for the wave of changes.

Among other things, it was discussed about developments in cyber justice and artificial intelligence, work in the field of justice quality, judicial time management as well as cooperation programs and recent developments in the field of justice in member and observer countries.

During the visit, the AJ Executive Director Mr. Fejzullahu and the Chairman of the KJC Mr. Zogaj held a number of meetings with senior officials from the EC, first with the President of CEPEJ Mr. Ramin Ramin Garagurbanli, Vice President, Mr. Francesco Depasquale, Secretary of CEPEJ, Mrs. Muriel Decot as well as the Deputy Secretary of CEPEJ Mrs. Clemence Bouquemont, to continue with meetings with the Ambassador Christian Meughly Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the Council of Europe and Chairman of the Reporting Group - Legal Cooperation of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe; and Ms. Oognah Buckley Deputy Secretary General from the Irish Department of Justice and one time Representative of the Presidency of Ireland to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe;

During this visit, the delegation consisting of the AJ Executive Director and KJC Chairman highly appreciated the ongoing cooperation with the Council of Europe through projects aimed at strengthening the quality and efficiency of the judicial system in Kosovo.
