On 09 February 2016, Kosovo Judicial Institute with the support of UNICEF, conducted training in the field of Justice for Children - criminal aspect on: "Juvenile imprisonment".
The training was conducted in order to provide adequate skills and knowledge in the implementation of national legal provisions and familiarity with international standards derived from the UN Convention on Rights of the Child, in terms of harmonization of judicial practice when imposing juvenile imprisonment as the most serious sanction imposed on a minors.
Initially during the training was elaborated the purpose of juvenile imprisonment, its conditions, criteria evaluated when imposing imprisonment for juveniles and the duration of detention for juveniles.
In the afternoon, was elaborated the conditional release of juveniles, criteria for conditional release, conditional release panel, execution of the decision issued by the panel for conditional release and the obligations of the person released on condition. Within this training were discussed the commencement and termination of statutory limitation of execution of imprisonment sentence for juveniles.
Beneficiaries of this training were judges and prosecutors of basic level.
