From18 to 19 March 2016, KJI has participated in the Third Regional Forum on Rule of Law in Southeast Europe that was held in Sarajevo. This forum is organized by "The AIRE Centre" and "Civil Rights Defenders".
Within this Forum the main topic was the independence and impartiality of the courts with the focus on general principles and recent cases of the ECHR. Wherein judges of the ECHR of the regional countries were focused on recent jurisprudence of the ECHR concerning the right for a fair trial by an independent and impartial court.
During the proceedings of this conference it is also discussed the development of a national and regional strategy for the development of curricula in support to ECHR.
The participants in the conference were judges of constitutional courts, supreme courts, representatives of judicial training institutions and civil society representatives. The KJI’s representative at this meeting was Head of Continuing Training Program.
