Trial advocacy skills

01, 02 and 03 November 2002, Academy of Justice within the Initial Training Program for the first group of newly appointed judges is conducting the training module on “Trial advocacy skills” with trainer Ms. Laura Pula prosecutor in the Chief State Prosecutors Office, Mr. Agron Qalaj Deputy Chief State Prosecutor, and Mr. Sulltan Dobraj judge in the Basic Court in Peja.

Within the first session of trial advocacy skills training is covering the following: direct examination, and discussions about the facts in favor and against, cross examination, and exercises applying techniques of cross examination.

Second day of the training continues with the opening statement and it demonstrates the impeachment and the re-examination, for each judges.

Whereas the third day of the training continues with the closing statement, distinction between the opening statement and closing statement, presentation of evidence in the court hearing, and it continues with demonstration of re-examination exercise through video-critiques ad final comments by the trainers.

Beneficiaries of this training are 29 newly appointed judges including two judges of the Serbian community.
