On 10 August 2017, the Academy of Justice with the support of the USAID Project “Justice System Strengthening Program in Kosovo” conduced a publication ceremony of the Handbook for Legal Writing and Reasoning”.
To participant at this ceremony were addressed by Mrs. Luljetë Hetemi, Head of Research and Publication Program in the Academy of Justice, Head of Kosovo Judicial Council, Mr. Nehat Idrzi, USAID Supervisory Program Officer, Mr. Paul Vaca and on behalf of the authors of this publication, Mr. Fejzullah Hasani.
Mrs. Luljetë Hetemi among other things, emphasized that “The Academy of Justice is committed in further development of publication activities aiming to fulfill the needs of judges, prosecutors and other legal professionals, since its legal mandates in addition to training, conduct also research and publication activities with the purpose of development of the Kosovo judiciary in line with European Standards. Furthermore, she expressed her gratitude’s to the USAID project for enabling the publication of handbook, the authors that contributed in drafting the handbook, Judicial Council and Prosecutorial Council for institutional cooperation and all judges and prosecutors for providing their expertise to the Academy’s publications.
The Head of Kosovo Judicial Council also thanked USAID for providing a constant support to Kosovo Judicial Council, including the Academy of Justice, whereas, concerning to the handbook he congratulated the authors for their contribution, emphasizing also the importance of the legal writing and reasoning toward the process of providing justice.
The USAID Supervisory Program Officer, Mr. Paul Vaca, in his speech stated that “This publication has been conducted in cooperation with the Academy of Justice and thanked the authors of the handbook. He also emphasized that the USAID within the frame of the Justice System Strengthening Program in Kosovo will continue to support the increase and strengthening of Kosovo judicial capacities.
Whilst, Mr. Fejzullah Hasani, on behalf of the authors of this handbook in his speech congratulated the Academy of Justice and USAID for this publication, and recommended judges to use the handbook during their daily work not as a template, but as a guide that will help them while writing judicial decisions.
This ceremony was attended by court presidents, representatives of judicial and prosecutorial councils, USAID staff and Justice Academy staff.
