Induction Training Program for Judges and State Prosecutors - Overview of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo

On December 4th 2017, the Academy of Justice in cooperation with the American Embassy and GIZ commenced the implementation of the Induction Training Program for Judges and State Prosecutors lately inaugurated and decreed, to the Kosovo judicial and prosecutorial system.

In his opening speech, the Director of the Academy of Justice welcomed the participants and assured them for further cooperation expressing his commitment to support them, but also invited them to take part in the activities organized by the Academy of Justice. Furthermore, in their opening speech, participants were also welcomed by the Head of KJC and KPC, and representatives of the American Embassy.

The purpose of these trainings is to build up professional capacities of judges and prosecutors for successful performance of their work and issuing proper judicial decisions.

In the first day will be treated the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. This training aims at providing participant the knowledge on Kosovo Criminal Code, general part, including: criminal liability, punishments/sanctions and confiscation, as well as the special part, concretely, the chapters covering criminal offences – objective and subjective elements of criminal offences.

The training that consists of several sessions with the duration of 14 days, is being attended by 46 participants, among them are judges and prosecutors of basic and appeal instances from different regions of Kosovo.
