Initial training program activities conducted for the newly appointed judges during July

The Initial Training Program for newly appointed judges during July delivered eight training sessions from the following modules: “Civil, Commercial and the Administrative Laws”, “Personal and interpersonal skills” and the “International and national legal order”.

The sub-module on “Reasoning of court decisions” conducted four training sessions that elaborated on: legal writing and methodology and use of IRAC formula, reasoning of court decisions in the criminal and civil law areas, and principles of good writing. Objectives of this sub-module are on efficient application of legal writing according to IRAC method, drafting decisions according to IRAC method, application of principles and steps of a good writing process.

Under the sub-module on “The right of ownership and other related rights”, three training sessions were conducted for the newly appointed judges, who have developed their competence on the following matters: real rights in foreign objects, authentication, constitution and termination of real servitudes, protection of real servitudes, loss of property rights and the right of construction (superficies). Whereas the sub-module on “Organization of the judicial and prosecutorial system” delivered one training session that focused on the structure and organization of the judiciary, judicial procedures in compliance with court competencies, and distinction of competencies of the Kosovo Judicial Council from the court competencies, and other bodies that carry out activities in the justice area.

On the other hand, the practical training component in this period was realized by attending of practical training by newly appointed judges in their respective courts as per the schedule set in the program.

The initial training program for newly appointed judges is being attended by 54 judges, five of whom are of the Serbian community.
