On 24, 25 and 26 March 2009, Kosovo Judicial Institute in cooperation with the U.S Department of Justice and National Institute for Trial Advocacy “NITA” from USA, conducted the three-day training under the topic: “Building Trail Advocacy Skills". The purpose of this training was to develop practical advocacy skills during the trial, which was conducted through working group breakouts and mainly practice oriented. A special attention was paid to the techniques of the direct examination and cross-examination of witnesses, victims and defendants as well as to the challenges faced during the representation of parties before the presiding panel. The main characteristic of this training session, based on the assignments from the trainers, was that each participant had the chance to be active through preparing and delivering concrete presentations.
The beneficiaries of the respective training were: prosecutors and intern advocates.
