Advancing the rights of LGBTI people in Kosovo

On August 5, 2020, the Academy of Justice within the framework of the Continuous Education Program in cooperation with CEL - Center for Equality and Freedom for the rights of the LGBTI community in Kosovo is conducting training on "Advancing the rights of LGBTI people in Kosovo ". The trainer engaged in this training is Mrs. Rina Kika - lawyer.

The purpose of this training is to combat hate crime, early consideration of the impact of hate crimes on LGBTI persons and focus on the broader context of discrimination and prejudice that LGBTI persons experience in Kosovo.

The focus of the training is What is the LGBTI community, Introduction to the rights of the LGBTI community according to the legal framework in Kosovo, The criminal aspect of protection of the rights of the LGBTI community.

During this training are being elaborated the Identification of human rights violations based on concrete cases, the civil aspect of protection of the rights of the LGBTI community, the role of courts in the protection of human rights of the LGBTI community.

The training methodology is based on interactive discussions, elaborating various cases from case law.

Beneficiaries in this training are: judges and prosecutors of Basic level from all regions of Kosovo.
