Trial Advocacy Skills

On 20, 21 and 22 March 2014, the KJI conducted three day training on “Trial Advocacy skills according to NITA program”.

Purpose of this training was to develop practical skills of representation during trials that are related to the opening statement, the direct and cross examination, impeachment, re-examination and the closing statement.  Implementation techniques of these matters are already required in the New Criminal Procedure Code of Kosovo.

During the training, participants divided in groups could work on a practical case and represent certain parts, in which case they demonstrated their trial advocacy skills, relying on the previous instructions of the trainers through a simulated trial.

Beneficiaries of this training were judges and prosecutors of basic instances of different regions, as well as professional associates from basic courts.
