The Kosovo Judicial Institute (KJI) in cooperation with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) – Trade Law Department of the US Embassy in Kosovo, during 05 and 06 of May 2014 held a training on the topic of “Decision in cases of bankruptcy”. Main purpose of this training was to enhance the judge’s knowledge on the commercial field – bankruptcy. A comprehensive approach was given to the topics like: Introduction to comparative principles of bankruptcy, cases of bankruptcy in Kosovo, preliminary procedures of rehabilitation, traditional measures of bankruptcy, and insolvency procedure
The workshop, besides presentation of study cases it also had work in small groups and discussion of cases by the participants and experts.
Lecturesrs were experts from US, Ms. Nancy Alquist, President of the Court of Maryland District, the US Court of Insolvency, Mr. Marvin J. Garbis, Judge of this court, Ms. Corrin Gee, Judicial Trainer, the Judicial Federal center, anof Prishtina Mr. Srdan Sadikovic, International Specialist of the CLDP Program.
Beneficiaries were judges of commercial departments of the Basic Court of Prishtina and the Appeals Court, as well as general departments – civil divisions of Basic Courts.
