Today, October 19, 2021, the Academy of Justice in cooperation with the office of the Council of Europe in Prishtina, the PECK III project, is conducting a Training of Trainers on the topic: "Financing of Terrorism".
The Training of Trainers which will last 3 days, from October 19, 2021 to October 21, 2021, will address the key concepts of terrorism financing and the international framework for terrorism financing. During the first day, the methods and techniques of terrorism financing will be treated, as well as the legal framework in Kosovo, issues that will be lectured by the international expert Theo Byl.
On the second and third day of the training will be discussed issues related to the identification of appropriate investigative measures, money circulation, evidence collection, asset coordination, national coordination and international cooperation, etc., lectured by international expert Arvinder Sambei.
Practical cases will be discussed during the training, especially the case of Zschüschen where participants will be divided into working groups.
From the end of this training, additional data and information will be collected in the preparation and enrichment of the trainer manual for financing Terrorism, which will serve Judges, Prosecutors and Police officers.
The training is being conducted in person, always respecting all the measures provided by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the Ministry of Health, about hygiene, distance, space in order to protect against the COVID-19 virus.
Beneficiaries of the training are: Judges from the Basic and Appellate Courts - Special Department, Prosecutors from the Special Prosecution, Representatives from the Financial Intelligence Unit and representatives from the Kosovo Police.
