On June 12, 2014, Kosovo Judicial Institute in cooperation with the Kosovo Probation Service conducted a practical training with ITP candidates of fifth generation.
The aim of this training was to provide ITP candidates for judges and prosecutors knowledge about the performance, work and activities of the Kosovo Probation Service. The knowledge gained from this institution will serve to their future professional practice, in improving the quality of work and increasing cooperation between judges, prosecutors and Probation Service of Kosovo.
Senior Kosovo Probation officers accompanied by their director, informed the candidates about the Probation Service history, divisions that operate within the Probation Service, the execution of measures and alternative sanctions, cooperation with the courts and prosecutor offices, probation and supervision procedures of persons released on bail, social survey, the report before sentencing, and the difference between social survey and the reports given before sentencing.
In the afternoon session, candidates were divided into groups assigned to work on practical cases. The candidates for the position of judge were asked to prepare a presentencing report, whereas the candidates for the position of prosecutor were asked to prepare a social survey.
