On October 3rd 2014, The KJI in cooperation with the EU Twinning project conducted its last and concluding training session on International Legal Cooperation in Criminal Matters for prosecutors of the Special Prosecution.
Purpose of this training was correct implementation of legal provisions on International Legal Cooperation in criminal matters, and establishment of best practices in this area.
During this concluding session, specifics of different legal assistance requests were brought, with particular emphasis on cases of organized crime and issues of financial crimes, then requests for provisional arrests and submission of this international arrest warrant at the Ministry of Justice, as well as requests for video-conference, banking information and forensic analysis.
The participating prosecutors expressed interest on the topic of extradition and deportation with focus on rules and timelines and practices in different European states and other states as well.
Beneficiaries of this training were prosecutors of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo.
