On October 17th 2014, the Kosovo Judicial Institute organized training for judges of civil area on the topic of “Complaint procedure in expropriation cases based on the Law on Expropriation”.
At this training session case law issues were elaborated, like the Law on Expropriation – its purpose, expropriation body and legal remedies, judgments and complaint procedure, compensation methods, appeal and request for expropriation.
Purpose of this training was to help the judges in correct interpretation of legal provisions on expropriation, distinguish causes of appeal against respective decisions based on the law in expropriation procedure, and analyze the expropriation appeals procedure, as well as properly implement the compensation procedure.
This training was interactive where judges discussed related to issues of judicial practice of interest for them, in order to help them in establishing best practices for increasing efficiency in expropriation process.
Beneficiaries of this training were judges of Basic courts and the Appeals Court – general and administrative department.
