Sequestration and confiscation

October 20-21 2022, Academy of Justice within the Continuous Training Program in cooperation with GIZ is conducting a roundtable on Sequestration and confiscation.

Trainer engaged for this activity are Mr. Agim Maliqi, judge in the supreme court, Mr. Shqipdon Fazliu prosecutor in the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. Bashkim Hyseni judge in the Appeals Court, and Mr. Albert Avdiu UNDP expert.

Purpose of this round table is to advance the participant’s knowledge regarding the necessary evidence for the seizure and confiscation of the property benefit obtained by criminal offense. Seizure and confiscation is an important part of modern criminal procedure, especially in terms of international organized crime, corruption and other criminal offenses that create illegal assets. However, the seizure and confiscation procedure must be based on evidence and which are obligation of the bodies that implement the criminal procedure.

The applied methodology was of a combined character, with theoretical explanations and interactive discussions.

Beneficiaries in this roundtable are: judges and prosecutors of the basic and appeals instances.
