Advanced training on preventing and fighting violence against women and domestic violence

Academy of Justice on December 1-2 2022, in cooperation with the Council of Europe Office in Pristina, the Reinforcing the Fight Against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence – Phase II, conducted a Training of Trainers for legal professionals in fighting the violence against women and domestic violence.

Purpose of this training is to raise awareness for judges and prosecutors on the matters of violence against women and domestic violence, and further develop their capacities to effectively respond to such violence, encouraging a victim-based approach, and holding perpetrators of domestic violence responsible, and putting an end to the cycle of impunity.

The entire training was developed on the basis of the trainer's manual, prepared in advance by experts Ariana Qosaj Mustafa and Eileen Skinneder.

During this training it was discussed about the national and international legal framework on domestic violence, the Istanbul Convention, different gender stereotypes, the meaning of the family as a whole, etc.

During these two days, the training was conducted also with practical cases and simulation videos selected by the national trainers Mr. Faton Ademi judge in the Appeals Court, and Mrs. Ariana Qosaj-Mustafa, national expert.

Beneficiaries of this training were judges and prosecutors of the basic instance.
