On 20 and 21 January 2011, Kosovo Judicial Institute within the Training Program for Promotion conducted training sessions on the topic: European Convention for Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
The main objective was that the participants from this training will be able to understand the importance of the European Convention as a mechanismfor balancing the legal standards regarding freedoms and human rights and the effect of the taken decisions by states that are members of the Council of Europe and that did ratify the Convention.
The issues that were involved during the training were: Council of Europe and the Convention of Human Rights, European Court of Human Rights and the Procedure before the Court, Admissibility Conditions before European Court and other proceedings and the Derogation in time of war according to ECHR.
The purpose of this training was to advance knowledge about the functioning of the Council of Europe and its institutions.
The beneficiaries were judges and prosecutors of district and municipal level from all the courts and prosecution offices of Kosovo.
