Roundtable Discussion: National and International Environment Legislation of Kosovo
On 13 November 2012, KJI conducted a roundtable discussion on “National and International Environment Legislation of Kosovo.
As a result of this session the participants will be able to:
• Interpret properly and efficiently the legal provisions which regulates the protection issue of the environment;
• Distinguish the criminal offences of this nature with other criminal offences;
• Know the forms of regional and international cooperation in the area of environment.
During this roundtable were treated topics such as: application of the Law on Protection of Environment and current challenges, international interpretation and EU legislation on environment and obligations deriving from this legislation, especially the application of the Arhus Convention in Kosovo. Special attention was paid also to the criminal offences against the environment, animals, plants and cultural objects which are sanctioned by the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
Beneficiaries of this roundtable were judges from all levels and regions of Kosovo.
