Strengthening of the International Mutual Legal Cooperation – Cross-Border Modern Investigation Methods

On 17 until 19 March 2014, among the activities conducted for judges and prosecutors appointed as focal points in the field of Mutual International Legal Cooperation in Criminal Matters were organized two training sessions with two different groups of participants on the aforementioned topic”.

Issues discussed during these sessions were mainly focused on the fundamental principles and the specifics of the international mutual assistance, with the special emphasis on the assessment methods in the context of the cross-border crimes, organized crime and asset recovery. Meanwhile were also discussed the legal requests, the enforcement of court orders for phone interception, covert agents, controlled deliveries as well as joined investigation units. 

On this occasion were given practical examples of EU regarding the preparation of Letter Rogatory for hearing of witnesses and suspects, search and seizure, observation and phone interception. During the training the experts gave great explanation of the concrete cases and criteria’s of the international standards.
