On March 25th 2014, the KJI conducted training on “Protected and cooperative witnesses”
This roundtable discussed issues related to: requests and orders for protected witnesses, requests of the cooperative witnesses and their accomplishment, benefits of the cooperative witness and of the prosecutor from the witness’s testimony. Focus of this training was on the procedure for cooperative witnesses, and their importance in successful implementation of investigations.
The training was accompanied by case law examples that aimed to help judges and prosecutors in avoiding problems that occur in practice.
Beneficiaries were judges and prosecutors of the basic instance, as well as professional associates.
