On 26 November 2014, Kosovo Judicial Institute in cooperation with KPMG conducted two-day training on "Bankruptcy Procedure of business organizations". This training will be held with the support of BERZH.
The purpose of this training was to advance the professional capacity of judges and other professionals in addressing and resolving insolvency issues and situations where the application or objection to the bankruptcy of the company has legal ground.
During the training was discussed bankruptcy legislation in Kosovo, the interpretation of accounting documentation, forms and elements of financial statements. There were also a debate on starting a bankruptcy case and stages of bankruptcy proceedings.
The training also focused on issues relating to the financial statements in bankruptcy cases and independent auditor's report. Also in this part of the training, the trainers presented a bankruptcy study case of Bulgaria state.
This training was conducted through study cases and a test regarding the training content.
Beneficiaries of the training were judges of basic and appellate level, Department for Commercial Matters, Supreme Court-judges of Special Chamber, Basic Prosecutors and bankruptcy administrators.
