Module: International Legal Cooperation in Criminal Matters; First session: International Legal Cooperation in the Republic of Kosovo
On September 17, 2024, Academy of Justice within the Initial Training Program for the newly appointed judges of the twelfth generation, conducted the theoretical training from the module "International Legal Cooperation in the criminal field" which is being delivered with the support of the trainer Mr. Gazmend Çitaku, Director Department for International Legal Cooperation in the MoJ,
This session is covering the following: the acquisition and transfer of powers from UNMIK to the Division for International Legal Cooperation (IDC) within the Ministry of Justice, the Central Authority for International Legal Assistance in Kosovo, legislation and bilateral agreements, extradition-concept and general considerations, what is a European arrest warrant, recognition of foreign criminal decisions and other forms of international legal cooperation.
The training methodology is being implemented through the interactive discussions method and based on practical cases.
Beneficiaries of the training are the newly appointed judges, including one member of the Bosnian community, generation XII 2024/2025.
