Constitutional justice in relation to the judicial and prosecutorial system

Today, February 5, 2024, within the framework of the Initial Training Program, the theoretical training of the XI generation of newly appointed Judges began. Initially, the Chairman of the Kosovo Judicial Council Mr. Albert Zogaj, emphasized once again the continuous support from the Judicial Council and the Academy of Justice to the newly appointed Judges. Also, Chairman Zogaj highly appreciated the readiness of the Academy of Justice for the preparation of the Training Program, wishing and hoping that this Training Program will serve the Judges in raising and improving their professional skills according to expectations. The first module which is being treated on the first day is "Constitutional justice in relation to the judicial and prosecutorial system", as part of the National and International Legal Order curriculum. In this module, the function of the Constitutional Court in the legal system of Kosovo, the powers and the role of the Constitutional Court in the legal system, including the interpretation of the Constitution and the protection of fundamental rights in the constitutional aspect, will be addressed. The nomination process and composition of the Constitutional Court will also be addressed, emphasizing the independence and professionalism of its members. Beneficiaries of the training are the 15 newly appointed Judges (XI generation).
