War Crimes

On March 19-20, 2024, the Academy of Justice in cooperation with the Fund for Humanitarian Law, as part of the Continuous Training Program, is conducting training on the War Crimes. Trainers engaged for this activity are: Mr. Valon Kurtaj, judge in the Special Department at the Basic Court in Prishtina, Mr. Ilir Morina, prosecutor in the Special Prosecutor's Office of Kosovo, Mr. Amer Alija, lawyer, Mrs. Jasmina Ćosić Dedović, judge from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Mrs. Selna Beba, Legal Adviser from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The training goal is to extend the knowledge related to the criminal law in Kosovo which deals with criminal offenses of war crimes, as well as the applicable criminal law at the time when the war crimes were committed, as well as application of the most favorable law for perpetrators of these crimes. The training methodology is combined with theoretical presentations and interactive discussions using also practical cases. Beneficiaries of the training are Judges from the Special Department, Prosecutors of the Special Department, Professional Associates of the Special Prosecution, as well as Police Officers.
