Training program in non-judicial institutions, visit/training for newly appointed judges and prosecutors in the Kosovo Police

On February 8, 2023, the Academy of Justice, within the framework of the Initial Training Program, for newly appointed judges and prosecutors of the ninth generation, has organized a visit/training to the Kosovo Police, with trainers: Ms. Florie Hajra, director of the administration department, Mr. Fatos Haziri, director of the training department, Mr. Riza Shillova director of the department for criminal investigations and Burim Sallahu director of the department for legal cooperation.

The purpose of the visit to this institution was for the newly appointed judges and prosecutors to get acquainted with the mandate, role, organizational structure and practical work of the Kosovo Police. During this visit, judges and prosecutors advanced their knowledge about the legal basis and Kosovo Police departments for organized crime and types of financial investigations, international cooperation in the field of application of the law that Kosovo has with other countries, as well as the challenges faced by the police which are related to the prosecutor’s work. Based on the fact that the work of prosecutors is directly related to the work of the police, the newly appointed prosecutors had the opportunity to raise issues of interest to their practical work, where one of the important issues was the discussion regarding cybercrime and as well as that of joint border investigations. The participants were also informed that in the future, during their work, they will have a close and genuine cooperation with the Kosovo Police.

The training methodology followed in a combined way that of conversation and illustrating practical cases.

The beneficiaries of this training were the newly appointed judges and prosecutors (IX generation) 2022-2023.
