Annulment of Judicial Decisions – Findings of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal on the Occasion of Returning Cases for Retrial

On November 5–6, 2025, the Academy of Justice, within the framework of the Continuous Training Program, organized a roundtable discussion on the topic “Annulment of Judicial Decisions – Findings of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal on the Occasion of Returning Cases for Retrial.”

Trainers engaged in this activity were Mr. Rrustem Thaqi and Mr. Qerim Ademaj, both Judges at the Supreme Court.

The purpose of this roundtable was to address the challenges identified by the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal when returning cases for retrial, particularly the non-implementation of the instructions and recommendations issued by the higher courts to lower courts in such instances.

The methodology combined theoretical explanations, practical examples, and interactive discussions, encouraging active participation from all attendees to ensure the effective achievement of the roundtable’s objectives.

Beneficiaries of this roundtable were judges of the basic instance from all regions of Kosovo.
