
Current Issues in the Practice of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo in Relation to the Practice of the ECHR in Criminal Matters
On October 3, 2025, the Academy of Justice, in cooperation with the Council of Europe through the project Supporting the Constitutional Court in the Implementation and Dissemination of the Standards of the European Court of Human Rights, within the framework of the Continuous Training Program, is conducting the training on the topic: Current Issues in the Practice of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo in Relation to the Practice of the ECHR in Criminal Matters.
The engaged trainers are: Ms. Gresa Caka, Former President of the Constitutional Court, Mr. Bashkim Hyseni, Judge at the Supreme Court, and Dr. sc. Ahmet Imami, Member of the Kosovo Judicial Council.
The purpose of this training is to familiarize participants with the current practice of the Constitutional Court in relation to requests in the criminal field, as well as advance knowledge on the main decisions of the Constitutional Court of Kosovo in connection with the standards applied by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
The training Methodology will be delivered through interactive discussions and explanations by the trainers, enabling participants to extend their understanding of the main issues arising from the Constitutional Court’s practice in criminal cases. It will also provide insights into the alignment of domestic jurisprudence with the case law of the ECHR.
Beneficiaries of this training are Judges of the Special Department, Judges and Prosecutors from the Basic instance, Prosecutors from the SPRK, and Professional associates from the judiciary and prosecution.
